My works largely depict my fondness for nature, a language that captures my emotional response to an individual moment or past experiences that have stuck in my mind.
I am always inclined to paint in my studio, it provides a pared back space away from views of the landscape. It inspires thought, emotion and impressions that otherwise i feel would become too pragmatic and obvious. This disconnection provides a freedom that conveys my feelings rather than observations and allows me to play with the poetry of colour and mark making.
